The Interview Call

January 31, 2008

One of these days I was talking to my neighbor’s daughter. She an undergraduate had asked me to help her prepare her first resume. She told me that the college management had hired somebody to help the students with their personality skills. However, she was not happy with the interview skills and resume writing sessions. She had so many doubts about how to go about the whole process.

That’s when I decided that I need to blog about the process of interview. We are always nervous about our first interview. It has happened to me and I believe it happens to each and every one in this world.  There are many of us who have taken up summer jobs.  Do you recollect how you went about the whole process? What made the employer call you for the interview in the first place? Have you given it a thought?

Remember that the company who gives the interview call   hardly knows you. They know you through your CV or resume.  So you need to have a neat and tidy and presentable resume. Though, ultimately it is you who have to perform in the interview.  It is the resume that has to play the role in getting you the interview call.I would like to take you through the entire process session wise.

I would be blogging about how to write a presentable CV to get the interview call and how to perform well in the interview.  The dress code and the body language will also be included. We will discuss about how to write a resume or a CV in the next blog

Have a nice day

My hobbies

January 16, 2008

There are two things which love to do. Window shopping and cooking.

I love to cook for my family. My husband encourages me to try out various dishes.

Apart from these two , my main hobby is reading. I prefer fiction. However, I do read non-fiction too. I love romantic books also. Personally , I feel it helps you in relieving stress.

My favourite authors are Jeffry Archer and Grisham.

Barbara Cartland is one of my favorite romantic writer. I own a few good books written by her.

One book which has captured me so much to make me read and re-read is the novel- A Womanof Substance. Barbara Bradford Taylor has proved through the character Emma Harte that rags to riches is a reality. She has personified Emma Harte as the lady who worked hard and in a right manner to fulfill her dreams and take her revenge on the people who destroyed her. She has got principles too. This is one novel which I would recommend to the book lovers .
